The Misconception of being Separate

"If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere."
- Vincent Van Gogh

I chose the quote for this journal entry as I keep regularly hearing the phrase ‘ I just don’t know what to think…’

In time of political distraction and manipulated jargon where do you put your attention, who or what is social truth?

How you navigate that storm can be exhausting.

If you feel powerless or alone, or if you feel undervalued or misrepresented – that feeling is unsustainable.

If you don’t feel happy or feel there is more to life or you are not reaching your potential –take the first step to change something.

Whether that is remembering to recycle your newspaper or organising yourself to get to a peaceful protest march. Or taking the dog for a walk on the beach to catch the sunset instead of the usual park or checking that your neighbour is okay.

Nature’s constant is change. Look to the seasons, the tides, the sky for their effortless inspiration. Little changes add up and turn into your new normal.

You are a part of nature, not separate from it.

When was the last you looked into the mirror and said ‘I am proud of you’ and meant it?

When was the last time you looked into the mirror and said ‘I am so beautiful’ and meant it?

When was the last time you looked into the mirror and said ‘I love you’ and meant it?

No matter how disconnected you think you are.

You are not.

Make time to remind yourself that you are connected, you are nature, you are not alone.

Small steps from you now, turn into bigger steps together for our future.

Learn to meditate.
