"There's no greater gift than thinking that you had some impact on the world, for the better."
- Gloria Steinem
A teacher of Vedic Meditation and I were in conversation when I was student, I was at that time in India training to become a teacher myself and had a deep concern about how I was going to teach.
My discipline, my love of the tradition, my gratitude of the knowledge felt solid and these common denominators allowed me to see similarities between the teacher and I.
However, my concern was my personality,
I said “I am nothing like you, I can’t pretend to be someone else.”
I mistook this to be a downfall or indeed a flaw in being a teacher.
The response came “The meditation world doesn’t require another me, it requires you. There is a Shazz shaped hole, go fill it.”
